Meet Mask Wisp, a peculiar little keeper companion associated with identity, self-expression, authenticity, social awareness, self-reflection, confidence, adaptability, and the many different versions of ourselves that can appear depending upon who we are with.
Mask is a Wisp for the curious keeper who has ever wondered, “Who am I when nobody expects anything from me?” Rather than encouraging you to abandon every social role or behave exactly the same way around everyone, Mask helps you become more aware of the different personas, habits and behaviours you naturally adopt in different situations.
Mask is a tiny mysterious Wisp, appearing as a small floating mask surrounded by soft violet, silver or midnight-blue light. Sometimes the mask appears to change expression when you look at it, shifting from a smile to a thoughtful expression or becoming completely blank. It may also be visualized as a miniature porcelain mask, a pair of theatrical masks, a glowing face without features, or a tiny floating silhouette that seems to change depending upon your mood.
Mask is unusual because it does not simply ask you to “be yourself.”
It asks you to discover which self you are actually being.

Working With Mask
Spend a few quiet moments visualizing Mask or focusing on its image while thinking about one aspect of your identity you would like to understand better.
You might sit quietly, light a purple, white or silver candle, look into a mirror, write in your journal, visualize Mask's changing expression, or simply hold its image in your mind.
You might then ask yourself:
“Which parts of me do I show because I genuinely choose to, and which parts do I show because I think someone expects them?”
You could write down three different situations from your life and describe how you behave in each one.
For example:
When I am alone:
What do I enjoy? What do I think about? What do I naturally do?
When I am with people I trust:
What becomes easier to express?
When I am around people I want to impress:
What changes?
The purpose is not to decide which version is the “real” you.
The purpose is to become aware of the masks you wear.
Some masks may protect you. Some may help you communicate. Some may simply be habits. Some may have belonged to an older version of yourself that you have gradually outgrown.
Mask encourages you to notice the difference.
The Strange Lesson of Mask
Mask understands something that makes it different from ordinary confidence companions:
Authenticity does not necessarily mean behaving the same way everywhere.
You can be quiet in one situation and talkative in another. You can be serious with one person and playful with another. You can adapt to different environments without becoming dishonest.
The interesting question is whether you still feel that you are choosing the adaptation.
Mask therefore enjoys contradictions.
It may encourage you to discover that the shy person and the outgoing person inside you are both real. The serious side and the ridiculous side can both belong to you. The ambitious side and the tired side can coexist. The person who wants attention and the person who wants solitude can both be genuine.
You do not necessarily need to remove every mask.
Sometimes you simply need to know when you are wearing one.
Personality
Mask Wisps are mysterious, observant, curious, playful, perceptive, thoughtful, adaptable, quietly mischievous, reflective, patient, intelligent, imaginative, socially aware, gentle, intriguing, humorous, independent, accepting and fascinated by human behaviour.
They enjoy watching people without judging them.
Mask is especially interested in the tiny differences between what someone says, what they do and what they actually seem to want.
It enjoys mirrors, theatre masks, costumes, unusual clothing, changing expressions, hidden doors, notebooks, reflective surfaces, old photographs and anything that makes you question what is underneath an appearance.
Mask has a slightly mischievous personality.
It may seem amused when you insist, “That's just who I am,” because Mask would probably prefer to ask:
“Are you certain?”
It does not ask this to undermine you.
It asks because people change.
Mask enjoys watching its keeper discover an old interest, express an opinion they normally hide, establish a boundary they previously struggled with, or realize that they have been carrying an identity that no longer fits.
It appreciates honesty, but it does not demand constant vulnerability.
Mask understands that everyone deserves privacy.
Its greatest lesson is not to tear down every mask.
It is to become conscious of the masks you choose, understand why you wear them, and remember that you are allowed to change what you look like beneath them.
